Reflection Guide 2
In this term, we started to dig into the project involving the Hydroponics 3000. At first we just thought we could bring in bottles to put our seeds from a cherry tomato in but then we found out that we had to think of our own idea to somehow make a grow cup. We had a lot to choose from and when it was done, you needed to pick some kid of saw dust whether it was saw dust from the table saw or saw dust from a cheese grater. After that it was time to put your seed in and start weeks of waiting to see if it was a success or a failure. In that time we started the Coaster project. The objective was to design a coaster with your initials in it using wood, PVC pipe to go around the initials, and concrete inside to hold the initials in its place. We had 6 days and then once we were done we needed to create a manufacturing process for anyone who would want to receate the coaster. Next we needed to research indoor hydroponic gardens for their chosen crop they wanted, mine was strawberries. We had to then design a rough draft and then a final draft of the design. After the final draft we started going again with the GC 3000 design which is the phone of the future. My design was a pencil that was also a phone that you could text on and call with so you can fool your teachers. Once the week was over we started yet another project. We started drawing designs for the Bridge Challenge which was to build a bridge that would reach over the length of a pond. We only make a smaller prototype though. This went straight into term 3.
